Accounting Administrator - Accounts Receivable

Rock Companies is seeking an experienced Accounting Administrator to join our Residential Property Management team.


This opportunity, which is available immediately, will involve a unique blend of accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting and other special projects.


  • Responsible for Accounts Receivable function including billing, tracking, reporting and follow-up

  • Act as back-up for Accounts Payable functions for multiple entities; including invoice verification, entry, coding, check runs, paid bill filing and administration

  • Responsible for monthly billing of company credit cards and phone bills to multiple locations

  • Handle vendor inquiries and review available cash balances with Project Accountants

  • Perform new vendor set-up within system and review insurance requirements for compliance

  • Communicate with on-site and off-site team members to ensure invoices are paid on a timely basis

  • Responsible for filing of A/P, A/R and other documents as required

  • Assist with incoming phone calls and outgoing mail on occasion

Job Requirements

  • 2 years Accounting experience experience in a computerized Accounting environment

  • Accounts Receivables experience preferred

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Prompt and reasonable response time to internal/external requests

  • Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills

  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization 

  • Software knowledge:

  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, proficient in other MS Office applications including Word and Outlook

  • Property management software experience a plus

Compensation: We offer a competitive hourly wage based on knowledge and experience, along with a full benefits package which includes medical insurance, dental insurance, 401k plan, and paid time off.
Position is currently located in Southfield but will eventually be located in Bloomfield Hills.
